Hey! How's it going?
I'm Sydney (she/her/hers)! I'm a 22 year old college student at University of Central Florida with a love for graphic design.
I moved from North Carolina to Orlando, Florida in January of 2020 to participate in the Disney College Program, but unfortunately had to return home in March due to the pandemic.
(ugh.)
I returned to Florida that summer with the intention of working for Walt Disney World again, but found myself back in school preparing a portfolio to apply for the Emerging Media, Graphic Design program at UCF. And now... here I am! Currently working part time as a character attendant at Disney World while I work toward my degree.
One of my goals this year is to push myself to just create MORE. So much of my experience has been school projects (which are also great, personal projects just have a certain feel to them), but I want to challenge myself to design more at home. Here, you can follow along!
My goal is to eventually be a merchandise designer for musicians and influencers. Some of my design inspirations include Kel Lauren, lindseyrem, and Carli Anna.
Cool and Important Facts You Should Know About Me
- I'm type one diabetic and I have a diabetic alert dog named Ericka! She's a golden doodle with a goofy personality (see her major side eye in our headshot together to the left)!
- I love Harry Styles (I've been a directioner since 2011, represent.).
- I have 5 tattoos - an Aries symbol on my wrist, TPWK on my inner arm below my elbow, a sun on my bicep, a lightning bolt on the back of my arm just above my elbow (which is matching with my best friend), and a tiny potted plant on my bicep that I got in a Friday the 13th flash sale.
- I have an obsession with coffee- finding local coffee shops wherever I go is my specialty.
- I was a competitive dancer for 10 years where I performed in Walt Disney World twice and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade once!
- My comfort shows are New Girl and Glee - I've watched both all the way through approximately 8 times.
- I love thrifting! Finding weird, random t-shirts or sweatshirts is my favorite!
